We have an old, but well-looked after de dietrich W-3536 hob that has recently stared humming to itself, and we’ve just noticed that it also has a warm patch at the front in the centre of the hob (mid-way between the controls).

Is it on its way out, or is it in need of some sort of repair ? Hubby’s pretty competent electrically (ex air-force radar techie) so we’d be looking for spares available near to us (Wiltshire/Berkshire/Hampshire border) or by post.

I’d be very sad to lose it as it’s given us 8 years service & still looks good !

    Any advice much appreciated.

You’d have to open it up to see what’s up with it to be honest but make sure you get the power off it first. It does sound like a possible PCB fault though which won’t be cheap to replace.

Spares should be available okay given the age, beyond about ten years De Dietrich gets a touch dodgy on supply and sometimes sooner, but they ain’t cheap… not cheap at all. 😕

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should get a reply from Dave tomorrow.

How quick was that – I’m sooooo impressed !!!

We’ll take it apart this weekend & have a look-see, but I have to hope that a replacement PCB MUST be cheaper than a replecment hob ? 😉

Is there somewhere reliable that we can order spares from ?
