De Dietrich Microwave: Model number DME329XU1

Hello,

My De Dietrich microwave (Model number DME329XU1) is playing up. In a nustshell, it refuses to cook anything, however the clock and the timer is operational so power is getting to the unit.

I called De Dietrich and I was referred to half a dozen different help lines: none of which were very helpful! Eventually I was told to call a premium rate number for help. Seeing as the microwave cost over £400 to buy, I think this is a bit cheeky. Sort it out De Dietrich!

Back to the propblem: when I set the timer and press the power button, nothing happens except the timer counting down. No cooking, no movement from the turntable.

Is there something obvious I should check for or should I seek out an engineer?

Hi

The plug top fuse must be intact for the display and controls to work and that is really the safest thing that you could have checked besides the manual ie child lock etc.
The fault probably lies internally, but due to the high voltages inside (even days afetr being unplugged) yoiu need specialist equipment and training to sort.
