It’s probably part of the locking device (for the pyro function), position number either 440 or 454 on the diagram.

No idea which is which though 😕

440 (74X4565) should be the lower oven door lock, in theory, if the French run true to form. 😕

The door switch required operates the fan oven when the door is closed and turns the fan and circo element off when door is opened. I don’t think its got anything to do with the self clean lock.

There’s no seperate door switch shown Kevin on either oven. 😕

I had a look through the parts list and there is no door switch or microswitch listed or anything that could even be one by description. The only part that I can see electrically connected to the door is the door lock assy.

I had a look at the wiring diagram for it and it’s about useful as a chocolate fireguard. There’s a load connecteed to the door lock and it looks as if the main oven live is through there.

    Hope it helps.

My engineer is positive that it is not the self clean “pyroclean”, assembly. He has described it as an actuator situated on the right hand side of the door frame which should get pressed by the door when shut.

    Hi Kevin,

I’ve emailed you the list. Do what I do, tell the engineer to identify the part. 😉

Thanks for the parts list. i’m still struggling.
Anybody got the phone number of any authorised De Dietrich service engineers who may be able to help me.

    Re: de dietrich oven

    Does this help:

Brandt Technical wrote:“The oven light stays on when the door is closed and, in some cases, the oven does not heat up.”

    Solution:

Check that the door lock is working properly and particularly that the door contact is not broken. In this
case, only the door lock assembly needs to be changed since the chip card is not faulty.

    😉

There is a bakelite claw that should be on the door this goes into the gearbox(door lock to us brits) in there it hits a plastic leg and actuates the switch and I bet the plastic leg in the lock is broken -its not obvious if so it needs a gearbox .
