ParticipantHope someone can help. Got a customer with one of the above ovens. The lamp has been smashed. Not sure of base size (E27 or E14). Not sure if it is 15W or 25W. Also need to know if it is a round or oblong lamp.
I need the info before I visit on Sat. AM.
The only thing for certain is, it has to be a high temp lamp! 🙄
Hopefully, someone can provide a full description of what I need.
Thanks for any help.

Oddly enough, neither the lamp or the lamp holder are shown on the Brandt diagram 🙄
As it’s French, it will be SES pygmy, take a 25w and a 15w in that case 😉

Thanks for trying. I also phoned Connect Distibution (they now handle De Dietrich spares), they did not know either – putting in an enquiry – supposed to get back to me today (I’m not holding my breath 🙄 ). Had a call from the customer today to tell me that she purchased a couple of lamps & they do not fit – sure is strange. I’ll let you know the outcome since this may help someone else.

Connect won’t tell you anymore than I can, I have a direct account with Brandt and have access to the diagrams etc, which is the same as anyone will have.
From experience it will be a 25W ses pygmy and the customer has forgotten that the threaded part of the disintegrated lamp is still in the holder 😉

Just got back – its definitely not SES. According to the instruction book, its a 25W, E27 300 deg lamp. Nothing stuck in the holder. However, I have the glass bulb without the ES base. The bulb measures about 25mm dia with a length to the ES base of 30mm.
Any ideas where I Can get one, even if its only 15W – I’ve checked a lot of the usual sources without success.

Mike

Since I don’t have a Connect catalog (I do have an account), I cannot easily check. If it is of the ‘golfball’ variety, then it won’t fit. I guess the best way to describe it, is the profile is rectangular of the dimensions in the last mail.
If I take a digital pic can I e-mail you or upload to this site?
Thanks for your help so far.

This puzzled me a bit so I went digging 😀
As Brandt don’t show the lamp for this model on the diagram, I looked at a similar model, the CX4844U1 which is basically the same chassis but with two ovens.
On this model, the whole lampholder/lamp/glass is shown as one part, no part number for the lamp on it’s own 🙄
Perhaps you have to change the whole thing as the lamp is such an obscure thing that they can’t get them either, and the new holder etc takes the usual E17 lamp ??
Anyway, if it helps, the part number is 76X8534 at £28.36 ex VAT and carriage trade 😯
And yes, the Connect one was the globe type (golfball).

Good afternoon. Thanks for doing the research on this. I had a feeling this was going to be an ugly one. 😯 This is why I decided to put a message on the UKW site.
Since you have the drawings for this beast, I can only assume that the lampholder assembly is replaced by removing the top of the cooker. can you tell me if I have start removing or disconnecting gas parts. The issue being I’m not Corgi registered & I’ll have decline progressing the repair.
Thank you.

No idea to be honest, all I have is the usual exploded diagrams, it doesn’t indicate where they are positioned in the oven cavity.
Side panel off perhaps ?

Here is what I think I’m gonna do.
Order a new assembly & transfer the lamp to the old holder. I’m also going to measure the lamp base. I think you are correct in stating its an E17 lamp. Then at least I might be able to track down some 300deg E17 lamps.
I’ll let you know.
Again, many thanks for checking your drawings.
Regards
