    Hi

We just moved house and inherited a De Dietrich induction hob WZ5459U1.

Not sure how old it is – possibly as much as 12 years old as this is when the kitchen was put in.

Something went wrong and this tripped the fuse in the fuse box. When we switched the fuse back on, the two rings on the right-hand side no longer worked. The control panel on that side doesn’t light up. The other side works fine.

So I’d like to ask advice as to:

    what might be wrong

is it worth repairing (have been quoted a flat £120 rate from a repair firm to sort it even though they haven’t seen it yet).

And if it is 12 years old, is it worth repairing at all, or do you think it’s best to buy a brand new hob?

Thanks for any help you can give.

De De is an expensive nightmare – the pcb feeding the side which has failed will have blown – if you’ve got a firm prepared to the job for £120, bite their hand off or be very careful – the part alone will cost considerably more than that.
