My F/F blew a fuse last night. When replaced the Fridge came back to life but not the Freezer. I’ve been told it’s likely to be a new compressor needed, in whcih case it may cost more than the machine is worth (this from someone who hasn’t looked at the machine).
As a rule is this what goes on a freezer and is the best bet just to junk it and buy a new one (this machine only cost £200 when new two years ago).
    Any help/advice most appreciated.
    Cheers, Denis

It rather depends on the quality, condition and age of the machine. If its overall in good order I might suggest you have it repaired. The other thing is how do you guage its worth? I guess as soon as you buy it its worth nothing these days. But if its a particular colour, size or make that you like repair it – you really have to find out first what caused it to fail, it might just be water in a thermostat or a frayed mains cable.

    Possibly.

What machine is it and is it free-standing, integrated is it a fridge freezer or a a fridge and freezer as separates?
