ParticipantMy partner went to turn on the dishwasher. The ‘End’ (of cycle) light on the program unit lit (as normal) but then immediately went out and the dishwasher is dead. We’ve checked the fuse and electrical socket and my partner is electrically trained so he also tested the power was getting to the main on/off switch and that appeared to be functioning correctly. The wiring then goes off to a program unit and we are wondering if that is the problem? The dishwasher was working perfectly prior to this. I’m not sure of the part number of the program unit but hopefully it’s one of the following, which appear on a label on the black plastic casing:
SIEMENS 5WK52011
28 08 02 23 04 02
5 600 039 716 EE04Also, there’s nothing silly, like a ‘reset’ switch we don’t know about is there? (I’ve had this happen with a washer-dryer).
Many thanks for any help anyone can give.

It’ll be a Bosch-built machine, so this does sound rather like a board failure. Worth checking for dry joints and loose connectors.
If you can post up the full eNr number and Fd number (etched into top edge of the inner door), we may be able to identify the pcb part number.

Thanks for your reply Penguin45. The E-nr is SE6TIE1GB/29. The FD number is 8210. Other numbers etched on door top are Typ S9W1TI and 88027. We reseated all the connectors, which did, however seem firm in the first place. The machine has been in operation for 5 years, does that make a dry joint unlikely or could it take so long to show up?

PCB is Bosch part number 264882, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly if that is what you think you need.
Dry joints develop over time due to heat and current. Its worth splitting the box and having a proper look.

Dishwasher now fixed! I discovered these fabulous people (via eBay):

They test and fix PCBs. I sent them our PCB and got it back fixed for just over £50 – bargain! Dishwasher now perfect again. Many thanks for your help which put me on the right track. -
