Hi…first time poster so please be gentle.

I just replaced bearing shaft etc in a Hotpoint WMA11 and when I tested it various LEDs lit up on the front panel as expected, it started to fill then went dead. Now there are no LEDs and nothing seems to work. I have checked that there is power getting as far as the control board…what could be wrong?

I’m really hoping it’s not the control board but fear the worst!

    Thanks in advance

Motor cable in back to front causing a blown control board?

Thanks for the reply Allsorts, I thought I was quite careful putting it all back together but now I’m questioning myself!

Perhaps you’re right, sadly I haven’t got any diagrams and I dleted the photo I’d taken long ago!

Take out the circuit board and have a look… you’ll be able to see if there is damage to it.

Thanks for your kind offer Colin, I have PM’s you and thanks also George. I have looked at the PCB and it appears to be fine, there is no sign of blown tracks and the components don’t seem discoloured. It is very strange!!

Check the door interlock and the cable from it to the motor.

    hi

I had a similar problem a few years back and what I found was that I had reversed 2 wires on module ( they sit in a little block next to the selector unit) One wire goes to the pressure switch and if reveresed will stop power going to module once water level is up.Looking down on module the brown/green wire to pressure switch is on left and the red/green that goes to heater is on right
    Also check valves are ok
