I would really appreciate some help on this problem.

I replaced the fan element, but on testing realised that the oven fan wasn’t running. The fan does run on other oven settings so motor fine, but it doesn’t run on the fan-oven setting. My immediate thought is that the control module is faulty, but after observing strange readings whilst trying to track down the fault, I have a nagging concern that the wiring may have been modified in the past.

Has anyone else come across such a fault or maybe have a wiring diagram available so that I can sort this one out?

    TIA

    Hi
Might seem a bit basic but have you checked the door switch?? There is a small plastic nib that the door closes against and it commonly breaks off.

Thanks for your response Cookerfit. I didn’t mention that the new element gets hot, it’s just its fan that doesn’t run. From that I’m presuming that the door switch is ok, but will certainly confirm that when I go back. It looks as though I’ll have to take a chance on a new control board.

    Hi,

It may be worth checking the door lock. The switch on the assy. is designed to cut off the element and fan if the door is opened during use. This is more comon on 2003-7 machines.

    I hope this helps
