Hi,
I recently purchased the above cooker for my own use. This cooker involves a `Smart Cook` function so is top of the range. Within 4 days the progammer went haywire throwing up all kinds of symbols and beeps. I phoned Hotpoint and got through a few times after waiting in excess of 40 mins on the phone on every occassion then only to find I would be passed around and eventually drop out of the system and have to ring again. I eventually made an appointment for an engineer to call in a weeks time as he needed (apparently) to confirm a fault so I could get an exchange.
Not good enough. The supplier exchanged it for me anyway with same model. I was not going to wait on the phone again to cancel the engineer so I sent an email via their web site and printed it out and also their automated response. I had a message left on my answere m/c today from Hotpoint informing me that because the engineer had not got the spare needed to repair my cooker another appointment had been booked for 22nd Dec :o. So much for reading emails.
When I got home from work at the end of today my wife informs me that the same fault has occured on the new cooker also, again after about 4 days. Needless to say this is going back and we won`t be getting another of these. I will send one more email to try and cancel the engineer but I don`t hold out much hope.
The whole company is a disaster.
It seems my good old reliable Electra Fanfare will have to go back in the meantime
Does anybody know of any faults with this particular machine?
Can anyone recommend a decent slot in cooker?
