I have a delonghi dfs903 which is some years old now but has been very reliable until recently when it went bang, literally.
Ive had the rear panel off and the thermal cutout in the top right corner appeared to have shorted to earth. Has anybody had this happen and if so, was it just a faulty component or is there likely to be another reason?
knew a mick hayes that worked for comet… anyway is likely to be faulty stat if the stat were to go O/c could be over heating but if its shorting to earth likely to be just a duff stat. Disconnect the power then remove the stat fit a temp bridging wire in its place and megger the live to earth and negative to earth if its ok then just replace the stat
just as an after thought the main oven selector switch on the 901 and 903 was very prone to burning out on the last 2 switches
never found out if this was due to overloading the contacts or the heat from the wok burner above it but it was def an issue
