ParticipantHi, I’m looking for a bit of advce. My mother-in-laws’s dishwasher has a fault – the water remains cold throughout wash cycle and there is no hot air during the drying cycle either.
I’m thinking either a heating element or thermostat. Has anybody any ideas as to what to check for first and what parts I would need to buy. Thanks in advance.

May I ask how old this is please ?
I can find no references to it at all.

it’s 5 years old. Apparently same thing happened when it was 2 years old (no heating) and was repaired under guarantee. I wonder is this is a common fault with this model?
I am assuming D 12 S is the model number as it is only number which I see on inside front strip. Thanks in advance.

Ah, it’s not a Kenwood by any chance (part of the same group as Delonghi), check the rating plate around the door, it should be a KDW12SS I think.
If it then it’s actually manufactured by Haier and will need a thermostat which is a common complaint with those.

Thank-you Dave, I asked my wife to check. These are the numbers:
Type 12033
Mod D12Spower ratings:
220-230V 2.25 kw
2.1 Kw
10AAlso a number NR 8310600205.
I guess the D12S is similar to part of the Kenwood number you identified, so this is likely, but would it be risky to order this and then find it did not suit? Let me know what you think. Thanks Dean.

Yes, too risky to be honest, I’d rather be certain first 😉
I’ll place some enquiries tomorrow for you, in the meantime, buy the Mother-In-Law some washing up liquid 😆

Speaking of the Kenwood KDW12SS, my one has just developed a fault, the other day i realised that it had been running for about 5 hours so i stopped it mid cycle. Now i can’t get it to reset back to it’s initial stage ie the buttons don’t work ( i’ve found that if i turn on the power while holding down the P button all the lights go on and i can get it to do various things by pressing the buttons). I’m sure that the correct combination of button pushed will reset the machine – does anyone know how?

Which one, the Delonghi D12S (which doesn’t appear to exist) or the Kenwood KDW12SS which does but there is very little info on it ?
It is a Haier manufactured appliance by the looks of it, but no tech info is available only a list of parts.
Go back to Currys where it came from and have a moan about the lack of support 😉
