Origionally this cooker blew the 30amp old style fews wire when the customer turned on the main oven on Christmas day. It blew the small stat at the back to smithereens. Now after checking all the obvious (element fan etc ok) and blowing that bloody fuse wire a few more times it seems to be the selector switch (unless im missing something hence the post). You can operate all the hobs grill etc no problem. As soon as you switch the oven it shorts. There is no short to earth any where that i can find. i even bipassed the clock. The selector switch “looks” ok no sticking contacts or anything but could it still be the cause of the short? Cookers not my strong point.

    Thanks

Have a look at the lamp holder, I have had a few which caused a L-N fault both which took out the 30 amp rewire able fuse. Must be a L-N fault if everything else Meggers out OK.
