Iv read an article on here to say that the new fairy active burst tabs when using with Salt are as good as the powdered detergents.

Can someone confirm this or is the best solution for your dishes and dishwasher still – Detergent Powder + Rinse Aid + Salt or i should be asking the question – what do the engineers on here put in their dishwashers?

The best combination is separate detergent, rinse aid and salt if the hardness of the water in your area requires it.

You should not use rinse aid with Fairy Active Bursts as it already contains a rinsing agent.

We use fairy active bursts but also use salt as we are in a hard water area

So if im using the fairy active burst – should i select the multi tab function on my dishwasher and not to use rinse aid?

You mentioned about the ‘multi-tab’ option in your other post and I think I explained its purpose to you at the time? But just to re-iterate, ‘multi-tab’ extends the time of the cycle to ensure full dispersal of their ingredients. So to ensure your Fairy Active Burst fully do their job then by all means hit that option button. Perhaps even try it first without? I personally would take the latter option and see how it goes?

Rinse Aid? well again try it without rinse aid and it may well perform just fine being as Fairy Active Bursts include rinse aid ingredients.

Check the end result and see how it goes, if improvement is required you have quite literally options open to you. 😉

Ah, now that is a contentious issue in that many will say there’s no finer dishwasher tablet and for the most part I can only agree. However, in my vast experience on all things dishwashers I can say with conviction that any modern branded dishwasher tablet is much the same as the other. And very often you can get just as good a result with any cheap supermarket branded tablet if the truth be known. Trouble is that that statement is the contentious bit. The lab boys and their test tubes will say otherwise…oh yes….Proctor & Gamble tend to shout the loudest and market forces don’t take kindly toward criticism or argument.

Try cheap out anyway…see how you get on? I doubt they can be any better than Fairy Active Bursts (or whatever they call them these days?) but they certainly won’t be any worse overall. Again you choose?
