Hi I have a hot point fdl570 dishwasher the detergent door no longer opens after a wash cycle is this a DIY fix or do I have to call an engineer.i am quite confident with electrics. Any help would be appreciated

You need to be more than ‘confident’ with electrics. You need to be able to circuit test from the main control pcb to the dispenser and also be able to test the dispenser itself electrically.
Fault could be broken wires in door harness, dispenser or even the pcb.
Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to have a look.
