Detergent Door Fails to Open on Bosch Dishwasher

The latch on the detergent compartment of our Bosch dishwasher (SGS6302GB/07) seems to stick and the plastic door fails to open to dispense the tablet during the cycle. If I press the lever next to the plastic door, the plastic door pops up and to the right ever so slightly, but it then seems to snag on something and I then have to push it open with my hand. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, what was the solution?

The latching has worn and needs replacing, individual parts are available but I recommend replacing the complete Dispenser Unit. Often much the better option at just £31.61 but tricky to replace as it’s easy to damage the stainless steel inner door panel in so doing.

The part number is 263088 and it can be obtained direct from Bosch via this link:-

Has anyone ever looked to see what actually gets worn out on these latches? When I removed the door on the dispenser unit the mechanism looked pretty simple (not much to go wrong), but when I replaced it I couldn’t see what was actually snagging. It would be a shame to replace the whole dispenser unit if all it needed (for example) was a new spring.
