Firstly a big hello to all on here as It’s my first post. Only found it after getting my new dishwasher and what a great place it is.
Any how after reading on here I’d really like to go down the route of using separates in my washer and wondered if people had recommendations on where to get supplies? Supermarkets, online etc.
I see active bursts are the way to go if powder is a problem.
How quickly do people generally go through say 2kg of salt? My hardness is 17 Clarke, I know it is a huge generalisation as each situation is different.
Thanks for any help
Jez
2kg of salt will go after approx 21 wash cycles on average. Salt tablets rather than salt granules are easier to handle, less messy and last a wash or 3 longer. 😀
Salt tablets? really?
I was looking at a 10kg or 25kg granules from a softener supplier as I thought you could only use granules, I am now re educated once again.
Any thoughts on the detergent or rinse aid? Bryte for instance? Or just look for the best deals in the supermarkets and bulk buy?
Salt tabs are available in larger quantities, usually sold in 10 & 25 kg bags for domestic water softeners (sold at DIY stores & garden centres – not supermarkets)
No point in listing all the brands of detergent or rinse aid by the way as most brands are just fine including the cheaper supermarket’s own brands. You choose and that will be the way forward…. 😀
