Hi. I’m working on a couple of the older 1987-1990 New Zealand models ( EW50 and GW52 ). We still have a huge amount of these in use, but I have found little about them. I was wondering if there is a diagnostic mode for these, as the usual ones don’t work. Can anyone tell me which phase these were?

Here are some common symptoms and their sloutions for these models.

Machine dead – Main fuse (6Amp) blown : Shorted pump motor windings. Replace pump unit. Caused by flexible hose splitting above pump. replace hose as well.

Motor turns erratically during fill for few seconds, then stops, and tries repeatedly. May turn backwards sometimes. After few tries, starts beeping, and Final rinse light on : Remove power module (Metal box in bottom where power cord goes in) dismantle and check for dry joints, or burnt board around two main relays. Only attempt this if you are handy with electronics. POWER OFF BEFORE OPENING!

Won’t pump water out : Dry solder joints on pump relay inside power module (see above for removal of module)
