Participanthi,
i’ve read the topic on diamond h wiring on uk whitegoods, which is great but my old wiring diagram i have says when changing from a diamond H 23ER3 regulator to a diamond H 33ER3 i should use the first of the wiring convertions from the 2 on the topic page.
When should you use the other wiring convertion?
thanks.

The 23ER3 to 33ER3 are a straight swap wire for wire. Some grill configurations require the use of a 37ER type with different internal switching.

cheers for that buddy,
i was refering to the old style diamond H 23ER3 though.the first conversion table shows the convertion the same as my convertion wiring diagram
pilot-S
line P1
load A -2
neutral -P2
load B-4but the wiring convertion below that on uk whitegoods says for a 33ER3 you should wire it as
pilot S2
line P1
load A- 2
neutral 4
load B-P2and i wasn’t sure when you use the first wiring convertion and when you use the second ?
also the piece of paper in the regulator box clearly states that the link goes between P1 and 4, but it says on the second convertion it goes between P1 and S1.does this apply to both convertions?cheers for any advise.

Ahh, you are referring to the new style Diamond H regulator – square beige unit. 😉
The wiring is shown on http://www.diamond-h-controls.co.uk. Click on ‘Energy regulators’ and then ‘wiring diagrams’. The internal switching is detailed and you can easily convert old to new.Hope that helps,
Steve.

The only time you need a link wire is to convert the old style green backed regulators to the new style beige square ER40’s. The 23ER is the old version of the 33ER. The wiring connections (clockwise) are:-
Right side top tag – load B. (4)
Right side bottom tag (‘L’ shaped) – neutral. (P2)
Middle bottom tag – load A. (2)
Bottom left tag – line or live in. (P1)
Top left tag – pilot. (S)
Whatever the tag may be labelled on the back of the regulator, the tag and wiring positions are the same. If the regulator is the later E40 type, you must convert the wiring using the diagram and link wire supplied.
