Diplomat 6 & 7 Error Flashes but still works

Hi folks,

I’ve read through the forum to see what 6 & 7 flashes mean. But I’m totally lost as to my exact fault.

Dishwasher was purchased in 2003, just has the Green LED lights for display. (i’ll find the model number shortly, hopefully, ADP8322 I think)

It started out last year with fill error 7 flashes. (would start, emply water & beep)
We pulled the machine out & cleaned fill chamber contacts, & gently squeezed the pcd plug.
First test worked fine, refitted the machine & all was fine. Next day it beeped & 7 flashes again.
We then done a second contacts clean & all was fine again.

But every so often it would fail to start, 7 flashes, then sometimes 6.

It worked for almost 6 years without fault, so I doubt its a piping issue.

If I buy a new Fill Chamber, will this come with all the parts that are causing my problems? or do I need additional parts to go with a new fill chamber?

We don’t live in a great water area (Northants) so I’m wondering if limescales the issue.
Even now, after a few Resets the machine will work, its just a pain in the backside Resetting for maybe 10 minutes until it does.

Sorry for the long post, but really don’t know where to start first.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like the reed switch has gone dicky. The replacement fill chamber includes the pcb with the reed switch on it, so it’s all ready to go.

I’ve ordered a new fill chamber.

Are they easy to change by any chance?

I couldn’t see any fixings when it was last expossed, nor could I see any fixings from inside the dishwasher.

The fitting on the vent into the tub unscrews – that’s about it really.

Got the new fill chamber fitted, only done one wash since but all seems ok.

Hopefully its cures my error beeps. It could sometimes go for a couple of weeks without beeping, so time will tell.
