I have a Diplomat 720G, stainless steel oven and the door hinge on the left hand side has broken. I believe I have the correct spares due to a fault with the door under guarantee, but I cannot work out how to fit the new bracket. The return spring which goes into the oven housing is not accessible and I cannot get it into a position to fit the new bracket and little pin. Any suggestions would be most appreciated Thanks 😕
720G is the generic title covering a group of appliances. See if you can find the model number (typically ADP—-). It may be in your user manual, invoice, around the door framing, or on the roof of the oven box.
Hmm – this may do the trick……… Grab the bar sticking out of the body with a mole grip and pull towards you. Two holes should appear in the bar. Put a thin screwdriver through the one nearest the body. This will lock the bar. Remove the grip and you should have enough room to rebulid the hinge. Fiddly job rather than difficult – spare pair of hands come in handy!
😀 Followed your advice, but it was impossible to mend the door with one broken hinge, so bit the bullet and managed to remove the whole door, with the hooks held in place with small screwdrivers and 4 pieces of lego wedged behind to even the gap we were able to fit new catches and replace the door. Thank you so much for your advice 😀
