    Hi,
I have looked over various sites to try and find a solution to my problem and either can’t or won’t get the dishwasher to work.
Had an 8322 for nearly a year (new house pre installed so warranty run out) it has just started to get 2 mins into cycle and the stops beeps and shows 7 or 6 flashing lights as an error code which i believe is either a water flow meter or water fill error. i followed some advice and took off left panel, took off lead to water meter at bottom of water matrix, put it back on, still nothing. i have read in several places about a reset technique that either i can’t get to work or don’t realise it has worked. Could someone please explain to me like a 5 year old exactly what to do to reset as there are lots of subtle differences in people’s explanations out there.
    I am:

    1. Pressing 1 button (as in o/1 far left on panel)
    2. Pressing start button (furthest right on panel) 4 times in quick succession.

Nothing seems to happen, just that the lights operate as they would normally without a fast fingered, button pressing maniac attacking them?
Please help, new baby, stressed wife, little sleep, manic crazed swearing Father!!!
    Thank you in advance.
Sorry forgot to say, in addition with left panel off, i can see the salt container on the right with salt in it , then there is a similar container to the left which appears to be filled up with what looks like brown salt?! Is that right or could that be the source of the problem?
    Thanks again.

It’s a Whirlpool, not a SMEG, so no reset. Find out if it’s 6 or 7 flashes – it will make a significant difference to what you do next.

If it’s a new build house then I’d phone Whirlpool and advise the date of completion as your purchase date. This was always accepted when I worked for them and most builders had a 2 year warranty.

    hi im no expert
is my view i was under impression company u bought it of buy out the warrenty and whirlpool would not touch it as its under a diffrent name.
6 or 7 big diffrence as post above says.

if it drains then fills and u HEAR WATER going in for about 20 secs then it bleeps and drains and u get f7 then the sensor on the air brake is faulty , i don,t think u can buy them seprate think they come in new air brake not the cheapest of items.

iF it drains and goes to fill and u don,t hear water but hear a huming its a kinked pipe nm how old can happen ages after its been fitted and u get f6 fault after 20 secs can be other thing but that would be my first choices
    is only my view

Presumably MFI will deal with in-guarantee work – 0800 0234457.

There is no switch in the fill matrix – there is, however, a flowmeter which can cause problems – poor contacts where the cabling joins on is the common one. A good clean will often get it going again.

Gunge in the Water Indicator (black grid in the sump) will often give the 6 flash fault. Again, a good clean with hot water and an old toothbrush will often do the trick.

    Hope that’s a bit clearer,

Just to say thank you for all your advice, the good news ending was that the original kitchen supplier (not the developer) took pity on us and installed a brand new higher quality machine for free!! It doesn’t happen often but when it does it deserves a mention so Howdens in Gillingham i salute you !! 😀
