Any suggestions would be appreciated. My Diplomat dishwasher 8322 developed a fault. When the wash cycle starts you can hear the drain cycle start first and then the next cycle should allow for the water to enter but this doesn’t happen. A 4 flash code follows.
I have opened the door during the cycle and it is obvious no water has entered. I have also poured water into the dishwasher to check if it would drain which it does.
Some advice/answers would be appreciated for the following questions
1) Has the pump packed up?
2) Is there different pumps for drain and supply of water?
3) I have cleaned the filter but there is also another black filter below that. How do you remove to clean it?
4)This is a integrated system. How do I get to the pump and how does this dishwasher come apart.Your help would be appreciated

If it drains the water, the pump is working. There is a second pump for circulation.
No disassembly required at this stage.

Gave all the filters a good clean including the black filter. I still have the same result. You can hear the dishwasher run but no water enters the system. I have poured water in and it drains fine. One forums suggests a WI sensor on the left panel? How do you remove the left panel? or could it be the pcb? Your help is appreciated.

No water will enter the machine if the water indicator is in the full position – the computer knows this is wrong and gives the fault code.
The mechanism will have to removed and cleaned properly and the microswitch tested for function – it’s a twist fit from underneath. Access by removing plug, door decor panel and lower cover plate.

Thanks Penguin 45. My apoligies for going on with this but could you possible explain a bit further on locating this microswitch. You mention access by removing plug(which one and location). Door decor panel……the shiney bit on the inside?The lower cover plate………below the door area. Many thanks

The mains supply plug….. we don’t want any little accidents 😀 .
The black grid in the sump is the water indicator. It contains a rubber diaphragm, which is deflected by the weight of water and works a switch on the other side. It’s a shocker for filling up with fatty deposits and jamming in the full position. Secondly, the spring in the microswitch loses the will to spring and the switch will not return to the open position. It’s this device HERE.
To remove it, you need to remove the wooden panel (slacken screws 2+4 down the door edge) and then remove the panel under the tub.
Beware of sharp edges…….

Just replaced the the microswitch with a new one but I still have the same fault.

Just to add to my post above. I have removed the water infeed pipe below the sink and tried to see if there is some sort of suction from the pipe while the machine runs, I even tried to blow into the pipe but there is no flow. It is like trying to blow into a blocked pipe. Is this possibly the problem?

Water valve is the next step (Hope you haven’t built this back in again….. 🙂 ). The valve is the other side of the screwthread where the fill hose joins on. On the top is a solenoid coil with two wire attached. Remove them and use a test meter to check the resitance – you should get a reading around 3.5kOhms. No reading equals dead valve. They don’t fail often – if it has THIS is the one you need.

OK I have checked the water valve and I`m getting a reading of 3.6k Ohms. So the valve seems ok. I have bought a new one anyway so `i`m not sure if I should fit it anyway? What I have noticed is there was a fair amount of water in the drip tray underneath. Could this be a clue to the problem.?

I’m running out of ideas here. Obviously, there shouldn’t be water underneath – the circulation pump is a shocker for leaks, as outlined HERE. Beyond that, the computer board I suppose, but it’s starting to get rather expensive already.
