    Hello,

Following the advice in these forums I’ve removed the old seal and brought the replacement from here.

Any advice on gluing the hose at the bottom of the seal back to the m/c? I’ve got impact adhesive at the ready and the top off but can’t figure out how to remove the front panel to access the hole in such a way as to ensure a really snug fit. Is a snug fit essential or is this hose just for the odd drip?

    Thanks in advance.

Front panel won’t come off – you’re working into the gap. Fit the gasket to the drum, fold it into the drum and use a rubber based adhesive on the flange of the dribble tube. We use ‘Debor’, you’re local appliance shop may have a tube.

Then it’s push and wiggle to get the grommet into the drum front. Fiddly, but do-able.

I thought you were going to say fiddly but do-able, poop!

When you say fit the gasket to the drum I guess I’m going all the way and re-fitting the retainer/spring clip before fiddling with the dribble tube?

    Aye 😀

    And unplug the machine first!

Ouch, my fingers hurt! Evostick isn’t working so I’ll try Debor if I can find it on the high street.

First rule of repairing – patience.
