I have a diplomat 8702 about 3 years old. Won’t spin 1200rpm, even empty, slows down and makes a deep rumbling noise. It works alright through the rest of the wash, agitates and rinses and spins alright at 500rpm. Could it be the brushes?

It won’t be the brushes as this model doesn’t have any 😉
As long as you’re positive that it’s draininng quickly enough (filter checked etc) then the most likely cause is the speed control module.
Check repairs@ and the directories if you need an engineer to verify.
If you are going to have look yourself, plug out 1st please :zap:
