Diplomat ABA 6541 Fridge/freezer – fridge not working

My daughter has a built in ABA 6541 (at least 10 years old) and the fridge will not cool.
The freezer holds at -18degC and the fan appears to work.
The fridge display shows “H” and “+5”.
She suspects that it may have iced up and has been advised to empty it and turn it off for at least two days.

Do the symptoms point to thermostat or electronics?

Any help gratefully received.

It points to it being iced up defrost for 48 hours with the doors open.

If the problem returns again in three to 4 weeks then she will have a fault on the defrost system.
