Sirs.I have a Diplomat Washing machine APM8542 which suddenly stopped and tripped out the mains. After recon the mains, the program indicator screen became permanently lit and the machine did not function at all! I have assumed that there is a fault on the electronic control pad and associated electronics mounted behind the press keys. Would you agree? This I have removed and it is numbered 720726000. Could you tell me if this is an available replacement part please, and where I might obtain one? I am quite able to work with electronic circuitry. 😕

Far more likely to be the main pcb – HERE. These blow from time to time and there is usually visible damage.

Consider though – why? Short circuit components, notably door lock, heater and motor will blow the board.

Check everything carefully before spending the dosh……

Could you tell me the location of the main PCB please? Will check other components tomorrow.Suspect door catch, door would not open for quite a while after power was switched off. Will check element and any accessible components, but without cct diagram this involves lots off guess-work. Might end up buying a Bosch! Many Thanks anyway.

Most of these pcbs are in the bottom right rear corner – a few later ones had them at the top rear right.
