Hi, I can’t see any other problems listed like this but I apologise if this has already been dealt with before. I’m new to this sort of thing.

I have a Diplomat dishwasher that yesterday began smelling of burnt plastic & on closer inspection had a very darkened looking element. A part attached to the runner on the lower basket system had melted. I reset the machine to go again & this time got an E3 type error. I then did a rinse cycle to see if water was coming through & I thought it was. Still there was an error so I did the old prog button pressing routine. When I did this I got rid of the error message but now there is no water coming through the arms although it does rise up through the base where the filter is.

I assume there must be a blockage but don’t know where to find it. I have lifted out the basket & filter & have found the black flap & poked about in it. How do I access the pipes where the water goes to the arms? And if I do get it unblocked will my thermostat & heating element have been fried?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

IIRC this is a Smeg built model in which case it is more likely to be a wash pump fault. The heater has probably survived.

The wash pump is accessible from underneath (floor pan unclips). Take off the inlet hose and see if the impellor is stuck or unattached.

If that’s beyond your capabilities then click the link below to find an engineer you?

Don’t forget, unplug before doing anything :zap:

Hi, thanks for the swift reply.

I think I will get someone to have a look as I can’t move the machine to get at the base.

Would a new pump be expensive for this model (as I do not know which type because I can’t get to it)?

    Many thanks, Lisa.

Re: Diplomat ADP 8112 water & element problems

If it just needs an impellor kit then that’s about £40-45 but if it needs the pump itself that’s another£120 odd on top 😕

Definitely worth calling an engineer in to give you an estimate at least IMO.
