    Dear Friends,

We have a burning smell (electrical type). The machine has stopped. The program selection light remains on. I have tried the “Annulling Program” procedure but nothing happens. There is still water in the bottom of the machine. Please advise, thanks :rolls:

This is a SMEG built machine. The normal cancellation procedure is to hold down the programme button until you get a beep, then shut the door. If the computer board does not respond, it would suggest that the fault lies there. It’s damned expensive, so pro help might be your best bet. Very often board failure is a “cause and effect” problem, so checking the integrity of the other components is essential.

Power off if having a peek………

Thanks for the guidance. I have removed the circuit board which has some charring on it. Is it possible to repair? Please tell me where to go from here. 😆

I got the PCB fixed by some work colleagues. Replaced two resistors and cleaned it up, working a treat now. 😆
