KeymasterPlease help
We have a Diplomat ADP 8132 Dishwasher and the door will not open. A local contractor who recently repaired a tumble dryer for us says the door switch is broken. He tried to find a part for us but has apparently been unsuccessful. We called the supplier, MFI, who suggested they send someone out to have a look at the machine @ £70.00 (not including parts). Reluctant to part with the £70.00+ at this stage, I typed the model into a search engine and was amazed to fund such a fantastic site. I am hoping someone might be able to help with part numbers, prices and sources for the relevant part.
Everything’s crossed in anticipation!!

ParticipantDC will be able to sort this for you in the morning when he’s in the Office.
You’re right BTW, this IS a fantastic site and we do it all ourselves 😀 😀

Door lock is part number 697690139 and is £7.99 excl VAT. The front panel, the plastic fascia, is part number 763735661 and is £14.74.
Both prices exclude VAT and carriage obviously.
Hope that helps.

I also have a faulty door on my Diplomat ADP 8132, after wrestling the door open, I took the door assembly apart.
Does the door switch section (pn 697690139 7.99+vat) have a large spring and is like a catch which operates as you shut the door? and is connected by 3 white wires and an earth?
I removed this part, gave it a clean, refitted, the door now opens with a bit of a tug. I think I need to replace it though.
Is there anywhere in essex cm11 that would stock this part?
thanks 🙄November 19, 2004 at 9:53 pm #119387Dave_Conway

Yeah, that sounds like the part tids, although I don’t recall an earth being attached to the dor latch/switch but I may be wrong.
If you follow this link from our directory:
http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/81449032 … icroswitch
They are all near you and should be able to supply the part, if not let me know spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk I can order and post to you if required. MFI make a postage charge of £4 so please add that to the price of the part.

Hi there !
Sorry to intrude into your debate on the dishwasher door , but do you think you could give some advice on how to get the door open once it has locked .
And also if i do get it open can i get and fit the parts easily myself ( not being brilliant at DIY ! )
Thanking you in advance SteveNovember 23, 2004 at 7:37 pm #119389admin

The door is not locked…as such.
The over centring catch is either stuck or the door has shut to with it already in the lock position.
It just needs a good tug, you have to accept this might crack/break the fascia panel and lock…but the cost of replacement parts is reasonable as you will have read.
If you can get to the edges, grip right abd left hand sides and PULL toward you.
Good luck
Kevin

P.S
Cant Find Anything Wrong With Lock Apart From It Being A Bit Stiff !!November 24, 2004 at 9:24 pm #119392Penguin45
ParticipantCheck how the catch lines up with striker and the hole in the top of the door – striker should pass cleanly through.

Soulcatcher, the door latching/switch assembly is £13.88 inc VAT and postage.
Take a close look at the conrol panel also as these have a tendency to crack around where the latch fits.
I can order and send to you if required, drop an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and I can arrange for you.
