Diplomat ADP 8224 E2 error message

Hi, I keep getting the subject line error message on my dishwasher, it works perfectly around 1 in 4 times but the other 3 i think it is working fine only to open the dishwasher and find a musky, wet smell, like the dishes have had a bucket of cold water thrown over them and left for 2 days, the dishes are still dirty although they are soaking wet.
I have had british gas out around 5 times for this same fault and they are coming again tomorrow.
they have changed thermostates, control panels, a large rectangula plastic side panel but nothing is solving the problem.
I have just looked in the instruction book and it says that for this modle (Alarm E” NOT USED ON THIS APPLIANCE).
Has anyone experienced this before and if so ‘HELP’

Thanks for your help, I printed it off and showed the engineer, he took the hoses off and there was a kind of washer rubber stuck in one of them, he removed it and it is working perfectly now.
