ParticipantMy dishwasher has suddenly stopped working! when switched on the panel illuminates, there are no error codes, and I can scroll through and select the programmes, but when I close the door nothing happens. No bleep, swishing of water, nothing at all. The door switch is operating OK, but i am not sure what to check for next. Any ideas would be welcome.

If you are certain that the door switch is functioning (not just the door latching shut), the computer board is the probable suspect. You could try the reset procedure – Use the search facility, “Diplomat” or “SMEG” and “Reset” will find it for you.
Failing that it’s time for pro help – the computer board is very expensive.

Thanks penguin45
I rechecked the door switch – unfortunately it works fine!
I then got carried away and decided to test everything apart from the PCB and found that the soap release solenoid wasn’t functioning.
Is it likely that the solenoid blowing could damage the PCB?
Replacing both the PCB and the soap dispenser will get pricey even without an engineer. Can PCB’s be repaired successfully?Incedentally, I couln’t find any reset procedure info in search.

Ok – reset procedure:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ight=resetMight not make any difference, as the dispenser can cause all sorts of problems.
Try it and let us know how you go.

Resetting didn’t help so I ordered a new soap dispenser unit from you and also sent the PCB away for testing. The PCB came back without any fault found so i confidently put the machine back together with the new dispenser which didn’t look exactly like the original but did fit ok, apart from a couple of screws which i intend to sell on ebay to reduce my costs, and hey presto – it worked!!!
Now I’m in the mood I might track down that squeak from the washing machine!
many thanks for all your help penguin45
