    Hello,

    Would be grateful for advice.

I have had a Diplomat ADP 8242, its always been okay, but nothing special, it never felt as solid as the Bosch we had previously (exposed element, not quite asgood cleaning, noisy).

It has started leaking – there are two smalll holes in the pan (makes me wonder why they bother putting it in at all !!)

The leak detector didn’t pick anything up, and it has ruined the laminate floor.

I have requested a repairer from UKWG. But my questions are

Its five years old – is it worth repairing, or is the machines quality of a level that makes it worthwhile ?

If I shold just buy a new one – has anyone any reccomendations – fully integrated if possible.

    Many Thanks

It’s made by SMEG, so actually a decent quality machine. The tray will only leak if the float switch is missing, inoperative, or not fitted correctly. If operated, the machine would over-ride the programming and a fault code would be displayed. This would suggest an issue with any previous repair.

There are a number of leak points that occur with these machines, mainly associated with the water level control system, although problems with the circulation motor can be expensive to resolve.

I attended Pauls machine yesterday morning and sealed the leak from the joints of the fill matrix to the softener chamber. I also closed the holes in the base panel so that the flood protection system will now function.
