ParticipantHi
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have a Diplomat ADP 8242. When it is turned on, it beeps twice and then the pump starts. it then stops without filling. there are no error signals. I have tried the reset code but although the light is on for the program, it still happens again.I am wondering if I need a new control panel but at £135 it is an expensive mistake to make. Can anyone advise me?October 11, 2008 at 8:32 am #264859Penguin45

More likely that the water inlet valve has failed. If you can hear a faint humming noise, the valve is operating, so there might be a water supply problem. If there is silence, the valve may have failed.
Power off if doing this yourself.

Thanks for that. There is no humming so it is the water inlet valve. Where is it and is it something that I could change myself or do I need an engineer?

I just asked about my dishwasher not filling and was told that it probably the inlet valve. It has now come up with an error code that isn`t in the manual. The super light is on and the delicate and eco lights are flashing.
Could anyone tell me what this means? Please keep it in one thread, Amliz – everybody gets confused otherwise.
L-r, 1-5, which lamps are flashing?

Right, it means that the machine has failed to detect a drop in water level in the time allowed. It thinks it’s full, therefore it isn’t filling.
You will almost certainly have a blockage somewhere in the pipework under or around the machine. Stripping down and cleaning required. Also possible that the water level pressure switch has jammed, but this is quite unusual.
Power off if you intend to tackle this yourself.
