Just moved house and have inherited an ADP 8242 dishwasher.

Used it once and all worked OK, but shortly after removing the dishes there was an almighty bang, and it looks like the heater element has blown.

Although I am a qualified electrical engineer, this is the first time that we have had a dishwasher and hence I am not familiar with their construction.

How do I remove the heater element? Is it secured from the underside of the dishwasher, or can it be simply ‘unplugged’ from within the dishwasher? If the latter, how is it sealed? Would the replacement element have an integral seal?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

We can’t walk you through it – see sticky at top of Forum.

The element is retained by a nut and “E” plate underneath, you should be able to access it from the front panel.

Heater is p/no 806890373, spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to get you one quickly. It does come with a new seal in place.

For the benefit of future readers ( 😀 ), ensure that power is off at all times.
