Hi there, I wonder if anyone can advise me?

My dishwasher is completely stuck with the LED flashing at the end of teh wash cycle and will not restart.

    There is no error message.

I have tried turning it all off and leaving it (it has been like this for over a week now) but when I switch on it just beeps (like at the end of cycle) and flashes at me.

Is it repairable and if so which spare would I need?

    Many thanks.

Second in from left, with the glass symbol. That is the setting I do most washing on.

Like I said, it got to the end of the cycle and wont reset to be used again – Grrrrr. Still, it is funny watching the children argue over whose turn it is to wash up – they have never known life without a dishwasher. 😆

It’s a SMEG in a dress. You cannot programme, or change a programme on any SMEG dishwasher if the door catch is in the closed position, failed in the closed position, broken in the closed position or the door switch itself is stuck in the closed position.

That’s the place to start – power off first.

Hi Penguin, thanks for the tip. Do you mean mains power off/unplugged and fix the door catch? Will I need to take the door apart?

I am determined to fix this before my husband gets back 😆 I notice the screws look like the torx type but my dad has a set of those screwdrivers 😀

    Thanks again!

OK, I have had a play and the catch is working fine. Could it need a new electronic bit? Not sure what the bit with all the buttons is called 😳

Can I just ask our experts here, how easy will it be for me (someone with no experience but a scientific mind!) to take this machine apart and attempt a repair?

It is integrated so am guessing it may be tricky.

I am on an ecnomy drive after replacing our washing machine and freezer in the same week, plus the elderly tumble dryer is making a very strange grinding noise… 🙁

I just thought that I would update this again.
I took the machine apart and the circuit board looks fine, nothing looks in need of soldering etc but the door catch micro switch did look corroded so I have ordered a spare to try.

I did contact a local engineer but in his opinion it was not worth repairing 😥
