KeymasterMy Diplomat ADP 8244 is not functioning correctly and showing Error E3 (not heating the water correctly). Despite 2 engineer visits (diagnosed and changed the heater thermostat), the fault remains. The heater element and thermostat confirmed as OK – so what else could be wrong?
The dishes were coming out dirty with cleaner ‘residue’ on them not having been rinsed properly and not having been dried. The cycle also seemed to be taking a very long time. Interspare shows a second ‘Door Thermostat’ listed for this model – but the engineer could find no sign of one fitted to this model (normally fitted to the outside of the ‘drum’ floor?).Has anyone got any ideas or can help? Thanks, Simon. 🙁

KeymasterThere’s seven possible faults listed on that machine for that error so you’d need to check the spray arms, thermostats, wash pump and the PCB to elimnate the possible failure. 😕

kwatt,
Thanks for the info – by the way, of course I meant to sat ADP 8224. With the Heater, Heater thermostat and spray arms eliminated, am now looking at possible ‘door’ thermostat problem. Do you know where this 2nd thermostat is located and how to access it? What is its function? And, if you have lost the special tool (a plastic ring with hook extension) is there any tips for removing the door facia from this integtrated model?

The door thermostat is in fact a thermistor on these which is in-between the door panels.
It’s function is the temp control, the heater one is an overheat safety thermostat.
You should be able to pull the small lugs out each side of the control panel with a small screwdriver if you’re careful 😉

Are able to explain exactly how to gain access to the door thermostat. I have taken off the decor door but see no sign of it. Is is actually inside the body of the door and requires the inner door skin removed to gain access ( quite a few star headed screws)?
Any help gratefully rec’d – Simon
