    Hi,

Our Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program. Turn it on and displays P0. Press the program button and nothing happens, just sticks on P0. Press the timer button and it displays ’21’. Anyone know how I can fix this please?

    Thanks.

It could be lots of things such as the door lock faulty or stuck in the door closed position. Does the door opening and closing feel normal? Other than that probably a faulty module/timer. these often suffer from water ingress through the buttons. Probably time for expert help.

Door feels OK thanks. Stroke of luck – wife remembered that we bought 5 year extended warranty. Just found the policy – expired next month! 😆

OK – here’s the fix as suggested by the ins. co.

    Turn off at mains
    Wait 30 mins
    Turn on at Mains
    Turn on/off 4 times at the m/c

    It worked!

Re: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program

Well here we are , a year on. Further to my last post, shortly after we tried “the turn it off/turn it back on fix”, it died for good. We had the programmer replaced in the last week of the 5yr warranty.

Well now it’s frozen again, 50 weeks later. Stuck on “P0”. MFI don’t want to know as it’s now out warranty. Shouldn’t the part be covered by 12 months guarantee?

A new programmer looks like £140 plus fitting. Is there an any other, cheaper, possibility? If the first programmer lasted 5 years, surely this one should last a similar time?

Any suggestions welcome – meanwhile I’ll get me marigolds 🙁

Re: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program

No – it’s most likely a “cause and effect” problem. Mains suppressor, solenoid on dispenser unit, motor start/run capacitor can all corrupt the computer. If this problem wasn’t diagnosed when the board was replaced last time, it was doomed from the start.

    Thanks Penguin,

So no chance it’s something I might be able to fix like the door switch?

    Cheers, Iain

I wish…….. If the door switch was stuck in the closed position, you wouldn’t be able to programme it at all.

    Sorry, no simple solution.

Re: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program

That’s the problem – I can’t program it at all. Refuses to budge off “P0”. If you press the time delay button it reads back 20, or 21, or 22. Cheers,

Re: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. When you have programmed the machine and shut the door to start it, the display turns off and is effectively locked (you’d need to pull it out to see the display after it starts).

Where’s eastlmark when you want him………?

Re: Diplomat ADP 8252 won’t program

Sorry Penguin, I’m really not explain myself very well at all.

    Here’s what’s happening step by step….

Starting with machine empty and switched off on the door (not mains – don’t have access to plug thanks to MFI muppet).

    Open door, turn m/c on.

All the symbols light up , then Programmer reads “P0” and beeps twice.

Press program button – refuses to move on to any program (eg P4, P6 etc.).

Hope that’s a better attempt at explaining the problem.

    Thanks again, Iain
