ParticipantHi All,
I’ve got the above dishwasher, pretty old but works/washes great so reluctant to get rid. Recently there has been a small leak/gap at the top of the door but only on the left side, steam seeps out of the top and caused damage to cabinets. when opening the door I can see water droplets on the seal area and above.
What I’ve done but still have the issue-
1. replaced the main upper seal
2. replaced the lower seal (was old and knackered)
3. replaced the door hinges – thinking it was the door hinge that was bent causing the door not to sit flush
4. checked machine is level – which it is.
5. I’ve added some silver gasket tape to see if that closes the gap seal but no joy.I’m pretty much stuck with any other options, if anyone can help?
The design isnt great as there is one central strike plate holding the door in place but the seal is on the inside of the metal unit which the door has to meet but is only held in place by the sole strike plate…the left side has a tiny bit of play which seems to be the cause of the leak.
Thanks

ParticipantThanks Dave,
Unfortunately not on this one, the strike is fed into a metal brace and is a one piece that catches the door.

ParticipantJust in case it helps anyone, I pulled the gasket out a bit and used some Fernox LSX to hold it in place (on the sides only), added a couple of strips of aluminium exhaust tape to the door where the two meet and the leak has been cured.
Thanks Dave for replying..
