ParticipantHi, my dishwasher is playing up. When I select a program and close the door, there is a pause for about 10 seconds and then I get 10 beeps and when I open the door ALL six program lights are flashing together.
Has anyone got any clues, please.January 10, 2007 at 1:40 am #200090Penguin45

Oh, you lucky devil, you have the Chinese Haier machine in a skirt. A candidate for the the worst dishwasher ever built. Fortunatley, all that’s wrong with yours is that the door lock isn’t working. The switch has probably burn out.
An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you’d like to order one, in the meantime, power off if investigating.

๐ Well the switch is fine, tested it with a volt meter. I also pushed the micro switch lever in with the door open and I herd a short humming sound from the bottom of the washer, pump maybe. But then a loud beep and then the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lights from left to right would flash.
When I open the door all the lights flash, expected.
Do you know if I can get a list of what these lights mean?
Or tell me what these lights mean
Thanks in advance

Six lights flashing specifically means that there is a problem with the door lock. Given the various faults that these machines trow up, I wouldn’t be surprised if we could add “Lying about error codes” to the list.
Glad it’s working for you, good luck.

๐ Well I wrote to early, the dam thing packed up again 10 to 15 minutes in to the wash cycle, with 3 flashing lights. 2nd, 3rd and 4th light from left to right. So I drained the water from its filter area, took the waste hose off and blew down it, packed it all up and did the washing like my grandmother use to.
So would you know what 3 flashing lights mean?

No drain detected in the time allowed. If it has emptied, the water level control system may be faulty.

Thanks for the reply, sorry for the delay in getting back, but what if it has not emptyed, and the three lights are still flashing with 10 beeps.

Um, like I said – the three flashing LEDs means no drain in the time allowed…… if there is still water in the machine. If there isn’t the water level control is playing up.
Now – this machine is one of the most awkward bl@@dy things to work on on the face of the planet. Personally, I’d volunteer to fix the Hubble Telescope first…….. The undertray has to come off to give you access to anything and even then, it’s all awkward.
Choices – do it yourself. Bottom off, pull drain pump, clear blockage. Or replace pump motor as required. Secondly, find a local engineer to do it for you – won’t be many prepared to take it on. Thirdly, company service – not too bad through MFIs network and you’ll only pay for one visit.
Or face the facts – it’s horrible and desparately unreliable. There are so many better appliances out there for not a lot more money.
Power off if you are going to try any of the above.

Me again, well its sorted. As instructed pulled the unit out, took the right hand side panel off, disconnected the drain pump and there was a bean in the pump. I donโt know what type of bean but a hard one, so maybe that was stopping the pump, I guess these pumps donโt have allot of torque. Popped everything back in and hey presto! Sheโs pumps.
Many thanks for the advice and I’ll certainly use this service again.Thank you, Thank you.

Hi
I know this is an old thread, but I’m hoping for some help!
I have the adp8342 dishwasher. Over the years I’ve had the usual issues, soap powder, water not draining. However I’ve had it for nearly a decade and generally if got an error message it would be the first three lights and if I left it for three or four days it would be ok again for many months.
In the last ten days I’ve tried leaving the dw but it hasn’t worked!
The dw was mid a typical cycle. Alarms went off, ten beeps and six flashing lights.
It doesn’t make any noises as though about to start – but can feel the machine vibrating with my hand on the door. It did once start a new cycle after I did the reset thing with the function and on/off button.
I read above that it could be to do with the door? If so am I capable if revisiting this? (Money’s tight so would prefer to avoid an engineer call out), if it required pulling it out, is there a diagram anywhere of exactly what I need to do?Thanks in advance.
