Hello I have a diplomat ADP8342 slimline dishwasher. When I select a programme it starts to fill and then rather than making a lot of noise as it does its business it just sounds like a quiet motor working. The soap dispenser is not opening and ther are no error codes. It seems to go through the wash cycle without washing.
I would love some advice as to the cause as I am reluctant to pay a call out charge again. I had a problem before with the door leaking and after paying for a callout the engineer told me it was the board and he would replace for free because as he understood that type of board was no longer being used. This is not a good dishwasher and I do not want to pay the call out charge if it is not good for repair.

You have a Chinese Haier-built machine – very poor, I’m afraid.
Is the noise a quiet humming sound? This will be power going to the circulation motor, but it not running. It could be that the start/run capacitor has failed (cheap) or that the motor has seized soild due to the usual leaks associated with these machines.
As you are reluctant to pay out again on the machine, now is the opportunity to move on – Bosch do an excellent slimline machine, as do SMEG.
Remember, you will get what you are prepared to pay for.
