ParticipantEvening folks.
Having a few problems with my two year old slimline dishwasher and after reading up about this model it doesn’t bring good reading so hopefully someone can advise a little as to the best way forward.A week ago I heard the dreaded beeps and at the same time the power in the whole house tripped. I didn’t think anything of it at the time, reset things and switched the dishwasher back on, same again happened with the power tripping out.
I have opening up the black plate and sure enough it was full of water in the sump so I mopped it all out and had a good look with the torch and couldn’t see anything obvious. Obviously water had come from somewhere but I thought it might have been a one off. I left the black cover off and put it on the rinse cycle and watching with the torch the sump flooded again but this time kept flooding and I had to switch it off and isolate the water. A serious leak is present so am assuming seals have gone of a hose worked loose ? The power didn’t trip this time though.
Anyone have any suggestions or a parts diagram so that I can investigate further ? I am loath to pay for an engineer is I am pretty technically minded and should be able to do it myself with new parts.
Many thanks

Err, yes. I think we have a part number for a rescue kit for these but any DIY store can provide something intensely flammable and matches just as well as we can. 😉
Leak, check the back wall at the seams, any holes and it’s scrap.
If it’s blown the motor etc. as they often do, it’s scrap.
Fixing it I’m afraid won’t make it any better either.
The part diagram is little better than a child’s rendition of a dishwasher and doesn’t really help with getting into these things, they’re an absolute nightmare, even for an experienced repairer.
From memory you need to get the side panels off to get the front kickplate off then cut your hands to shreds trying to get to most anything under there.
We cover Glasgow but we don’t do these machines unless we really, really have to. 😉

Well it seems this dishwasher is a goner…
I am told it could also be a motor failure with water leaking out through the motor seals, and have been quoted up to around £150 for repairs so its getting binned.
Howdens (where I got the kitchen from) have offered me a Beko slimline dishwasher as a replacement, no idea what model and whether Beko any good, £199 +VAT.
Any horror stories about Beko dishwashers ? Guess you pay your money and take your chance !
Only thought is whether anyone has any comments on using powder compared to tablets and whather this has an impact on the life of these small budget dishwashers ?
Cheers

if its a slimline you got then stick to powder not tablets as most of the tablets are designed for 600 wide dishwashers and tend to over foam in the slimlines causing water in to the base
