    Hi

I have a Diplomat ADP3101, over the last few weeks its has been cutting out then starting up again as it cooled.

Yesterday it cut out after 10 mins and now I can’t get it to work at all.

When I turn the knob to set the temperature, I now here a click just as I start to turn it, then the LED goes out. Set the temp back to zero and the light comes back on. I noticed as I was trying to get it to start again that the click I could hear was at lower temps as the oven cooled.

I think its a thermostat problem but not sure what needs to be fixed.

    Any advice is appreciated 🙂

Yup, faulty thermostat – you need one of THESE. From you description, it sounds like it has been cycling on the thermal limiter, so I would replace that as well – HERE.

Stay safe – power off at all times.

    Thanks for the reply.

How hard would it be to fit those parts myself?

Can someone with no experience, change these parts, or am I better off getting a professional to look at it?

Don’t want to buy them and break it even more 😉

It is basically a screwdriver job; bit of patience and method will see you through. Make diagrams before pulling any wire and make sure that the capillary doesn’t get nipped, kinked or trapped.

If you’re not confident, use the repairs@ link on the left for a repairer in your area and be prepared to pay for an hours work.

Stay safe, power off before removing any panel.
