Hello I’m to all this but am seeking advice. 7 weeks ago our cooker was fitted but would cut out at 200 degrees. Engineer has been out 4 times and has replaced the TOC switch 3 times and still did not solve the problem. Last Saturday Engineer came out again and installed ‘spacers’ between the TOC and the oven (spacers were actually brass nuts found in a pill box!). My concern is, that now the oven is working but at what temperature would this TOC now activate and is it safe? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Re: DIPLOMAT ADP4520 – Cutting Out

the toc will cut out at the same temperature but the problem is that will take much longer and will not sense the inner temperature is a bit unsafe, but the appliance as a independant thermostat that will shut off the heater before that temperature.the toc will act if there is an accident (going over temperature due to the thermostat failure).
sometimes due to design the companies have problems that they have to sort out when appliance is on the market ,maybe that was your case and the company told engineer to sort the problem that way.
    hope it helps
    have a nice day 🙂

Thanks for the reply. Managed to arrange for another engineer to come out and he confirmed it was NOT the correct thing to do and arranged for a new oven to be ordered!

    Thanks again.
