    Hello all,

I own a Diplomat ADP5340 range cooker and from day 1 (although it took us too long to realise!) the accuracy of the temperature of the oven has been way off.

For the main oven, set to fan mode, the temperature can easily reach 200oC when the dial is set to 160oC. I’ve measured this with a digital thermocouple so my measurements should be reasonably accurate. The smaller oven (non-fan assisted) is a bit better but when set to 160oC it will vary from 180oC to 120oC.

First question – what accuracy should I expect?
Second question – is there anything I can do? Would a new thermostat fix this?

    Thanks in advance!

    Martin

Presuming fan is working OK symptoms you described would indicate a faulty stat.
200c is far too high when set on 160c,tolerance should be less that 10 either way, ideal around 7ish set at 160 rise to 165, heater of,f back on when fall reaches 150c.
Convection ovens are much slower and thats probably OK, to get an accurate reading place probe in centre and work your way up starting at 100c then go up by 50’s,takes a while but don’t rush it to get an accurate temp.

Thanks spimps. I assume the only way of proving this for real is to by a new ‘stat and give it a try?

    Thanks
