Diplomat ADP5520 Range cooker Main oven not working

Hi folks,
I’ve moved into a house with a Diplomat ADP220 Gas Range cooker, while the small oven compartment works fine I can’t get the Main oven to work. I have tried all the settings on the oven ‘mode’ knob (inc the light, no light !) with all combinations of the temperature knob. This is at the same time as the smaller oven is on so I know the cooker is switched on etc.
Unfortunately I don’t have any instructions to help.

ps I should add that I;ve tried all combination of settings with the clock (ie manual and clock counting down) and the oven still does not work….
all suggestions gratefully received !

Hi Tweds,

The most single common cause for this is the clock on automatic if the oven is totally dead, explained more in-depth in this article

If you ensure that the clock is okay and not on auto then there are several things that it could be, but I’d strongly suggest looking at the clock first and being absolutely sure that’s not the problem before going any further.

Many thanks for the reply, I’ve tried differing combinations with the clock (analogue, colonial style) set to manual and under timer but there’s not a peep out of the main oven. Again the side oven works fine so there’s power there.

Yeah, it’s only the main oven that is controlled by the timer and, if you’re out by one notch, it will appear to be dead.
