The door on my range cooker has not been closing fully. I took it off to clean the oven and when I put it back it seemed to push the seal down at the bottom and there was about an inch gap where at would not close at the top. However, when I take the seal off the door closes fully and with some force. Should I replace the hinges or could it be something to do with the seal?

It may well be that the hinges are not correctly re-located in the sockets. Remove the door with the hinges locked and have a look at their bottom edges. There is usually a notch which has to sit on the edge of the socket to locate the hinge properly. If it was working before and doesn’t now, this is the most likely explanation.

Thanks for that. It wasn’t closing right up before I took it off, which was causing the knobs to become very hot. I will have a go at putting it back again.
