As the in progress light is still on it hasn’t finished the previous cycle yet, the programme switch is just that, a switch, the timer for controlling the appliance is in the base of the dishwasher.

If there is water still in the bottom of the dishwasher I suspect you have a blocked drain pump or the heater safety thermostat is open circuit, either of these will cause the dishwasher to stop at a certain point during the cycle.

Recommend you get a qualified Engineer to repair it as they are not easy to repair for a DIY job, always unplug it if you start to work on it.

Hi there, had time to look at it tonight. There wasn’t any water in the bottom but my wife found a fault common to diplomat DWs on another forum. Here it is: This Diplomat problem is common in most modern dishwashers. The fault code AF indicates that the overflow switch is in operation this is situated behind the base panel at the lowest part of the machine centrally in the overflow tray. It is a safety device to stop your kitchen flooding if something malfunctions the tray fills up with an inch or so of water and activates the cutout overflow switch. Most common cause is blocked filter so simply take out and clean filters, remove the 4 torque screws bottom front panel take panel off mop up water in tray this deactivates the cutout overflow switch and everything works again as simple as that DO NOT FORGET TO ISOLATE IE SWITCH OF POWER TO DISHWASHER BEFORE MOPPING OUT WATER FROM TRAY!!!! Note if it is a late model youmay have to press both buttons TOGETHER on far right to reset, DONT FORGET IF INTEGRAL YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE DECOR DOOR PANEL TO ACCESS TOP TWO SCREWS OF BOTTOM PANEL A WELL AS THE PLINTH DECOR PANEL. GOOD LUCK!! This is a really simple job 15 mins tops

I couldn’t get to the overflow tray but when I pulled it out the water spilled over the top so i mopped it up and hey presto!!! 🙂

I appear to have the same fault, it can take over 45mins to fill. I have not got a manual as it was in when we moved house, and no manual.
Could you please oblige by copying the page that deals with removing the plastic plate at the bottom of the inside cabinet. I have undone the two screws and taken out the small plastic net basket, BUT despite releasing the clip and the top clips from the long tube down the back of the cabinet to the centre of the base plastic I cannot get the drain filters out. In the centre of the plastic plate there is the holder for the bottom spray bar which I have taken off. Then there is a grey coloured surround, I could not lift that, wondering if there was another two screws underneath it.
If you can help with the manual, anyway, either posting as an attachment
or I will send prepaid, plus your costs of copying I would be grateful
    Thanks
