Have just moved into a new house with an old dishwasher. Model is an integrated diplomat adp8132 and theres no sign of a manual. The trouble is after using it for a 2nd time the door is well and truly stuck. Cant see any signs of screws, or anyway of sliding the blasted thing out. Any suggestions on how to open the door would be much appreciated. Previous topics suggest just give it a good yank, but loathe to as dont want to brak the cupboard door as it matches the rest of the kitchen.

It’s normally held in place by two screws going up throught the front of the ‘lid’ into the underside of the worktop – without getting the door open you might have a hard time getting it out.

It sounds like the inside of the fascia (black plastic part that covers about the top 1/4 of the appliance door) has cracked and the door lock is now out of alignment. You may have to just give it a hard tug to force it open – your fascia is probably already cracked anyway so you shouldn’t be doing too much additional damage.

To repair it you’ll probably need a fascia (part number 763735661) and possibly a door lock (697690139 assuming the machine is 4+ years old) if the locating lugs have been damaged. Depending on the condition of the fascia though an engineer might be able to repair it once you’ve bust it open – just depends how badly cracked it is

fascia is around £15-£20 and door lock is around £10, both exc. VAT.
