I’ve read the sticky about spurious error codes but I’d appreciate someone’s best guess about which order to try replacing the parts as they are very expensive.

First the symptoms. Out of the blue it decided to stick with a flashing rinse LED (No. 1) and was unresponsive to the program selector. I tried resetting it and somehow got it to change to the same LED permanently on. It then starts to go through a rinse and ends up with the light flashing as though it’s done a full cycle. It seems to do this with or without the door closed. I’ve also managed to get it to do a similar thing with setting 5 (intensive) by pressing the program selector in quick succession immediately after powering up. However that doesn’t appear to complete a full cycle although it did seem to heat the water.

I happen to live in Workington and got QER to check out the circuit board as that was my chief suspect. They say it’s OK (this time).

I could be wrong but I think the door switch is OK, although I need a new front panel and it occasionally sticks a bit. The mechanics seem OK and aren’t stuck closed. At the end of the day it’s just a microswitch and I could test it next time I have the panel off.

That seems to leave the soap dispenser and the suppressor. Neither show any signs of water damage but maybe they could fail without. If the soap dispenser is just a solenoid then I would have expected the same symptoms as a previous poster i.e. sticking mid cycle except for rinse.

Could it be the mains suppressor? At least that’s relatively cheap to try. But would I get the partial and repeatable functionality that I have? Or maybe it is the circuit board after all.

Nobody’s going to be able to tell you anything without the model number……

Sorry I went to double-check the number and forgot to add it to the subject. It’s ADP8132.

Problem solved. I took the panel off again and it was the door switch that was stuck in the closed position. I didn’t realise that as far as the microswitch is concerned it should be depressed when the door is open. So it’s a new front panel that I need as it’s held together by a lot of araldite now and possibly to be on the safe side a new switch.
